USING THIS COMPANY WAS A HUGE MISTAKE, SAVE YOURSELF AND USE ANOTHER COMPANY!!!! First off, the phone calls leading up to the move were pleasant and seemed genuine. SAM, who I booked the move with and gave my deposit of $150 to, assured me multiple times that there was nothing to worry about and that I had "room to grow" after going through all the items I was moving, more than once. Once they arrived at my apartment to load my items onto the truck, the drama began. First off they charged me $75 for an extra flight of stairs. For one, I told Sam I lived on the second floor. And secondly, the driver choose to park where he did with an extra flight of stairs because he wanted less distance to travel. He could have parked somewhere else with one flight of stairs but a longer distance to walk. Then after looking over all my items he estimated 16 cubic feet more than what the quote was for. Mind you SAM estimated that I was way under and had "room to grow." For instance, Sam estimated I had 50 gallon boxes when I really had 30 gallon boxes but the driver said the estimate was for 20 gallon boxes. In the end I was charge the $75 for the "extra" flight of stairs and $60 for the 16 cubic feet and $60 for fuel on that 16 cubic feet. I contacted the company about the extra charges and BEN told me that I wouldn't have to pay the $75 for the stairs since extra stairs at pick up are not an additional charge. But the real headache came from the driver who delivered my items in NY. Right off the bat he wanted to charge me $250 extra because he "had" to switch trucks. Mind you, he supposedly google mapped my address the night before and had a friend drive by to see if his truck could make it. Hence he never tried with his other truck nor did he mention to me before arriving about switching trucks and extra charges. Upon this news I contacted BEN again. He told me he'd call the driver and then call me back. Lets just say there was a lot of unpleasant negotiation. In then end I did not pay the "truck fee" nor the extra stairs fee but three items were extremely damaged!!! There was a huge dent in both my kitchen table and TV table but most dramatic was the fact that one of the legs off my bed was snapped off. Lastly, the money order upon pick up was to be made to Arrow Van Line but the money order upon delivery was made to an address in Brewster NY and a totally different company, mind you the diver said the company was based out of NJ. Again, a horrible experience, the rudest, nastiest people to do business with.
I would have rather driven across the country then use this company!
